For 51 years, Bocz Salon has been a part of Seattle. Our goal has always been simple: create amazing hair, and create a place where people can gather, relax, and feel beautiful.

Our Story

Gary and Karen Bocz founded Bocz Salon in 1971. In the '90s, we launched our apprentice program to train the next generation of exceptional Seattle stylists. One of those apprentices was Shelina Seney, who grew through the Bocz program as an apprentice, stylist, and manager. In 2023, she took over the business alongside her sister, Chantel, carrying on the legacy Karen had shaped for more than four decades. Since then, the Seney sisters have continued to grow the salon in our new home in the heart of South Lake Union.

  • We offer three ways to book!

    1- Book online here or on the Bocz Salon app

    *Not all stylists are available for online booking. If you are a first time color or chemical service client, we recommend booking a 15 minute free consultation appointment first before booking your full service.

    2- Call us at 206-624-9134! Our wonderful front desk team is available during our open hours to get you booked, discuss service options, match you with the right stylist, and more! We are here to help.

    3- Text us at 833-979-9138! We are available to answer texts during our open hours. Typical response time is 20 minutes. And yes, if you are texting us, you are texting a real human person!

    If you ever have any questions on which service to book, never hesitate to reach out! Our knowledgeable front desk team is available to explain services and pricing over the phone or in person!

    If you are a first time color client we highly recommend coming in for a free 15 minute consult in which you and your stylist can discuss hair goals and determine which service is needed. If you are a first time client for a texture service (keratin, perm, etc) you are required to come in for a consultation to assess hair health and appropriateness of the treatment for your hair.

    If you are a returning client, you can see your appointment history on your Bocz Salon app or when logged in while booking online.

  • Our salon is located in the heart of South Lake Union at the corner of Westlake and Harrison, at 390 Westlake Ave N.

    For those driving: we have courtesy 3-hour validated parking right next door at the Westlake and Terry garages. Check out our Parking page to see how to access the garages.

    If you are getting dropped off, there are passenger drop-off zone right next to our salon on Harrison St.

    You can also easily access our salon via local transportation. If you are riding the train, you can exit at Westlake and then take the C-line trolley right to our door step!

  • Our cancellation policy dictates that any customer that cancels less than 24 hours ahead of time is charged 50% of their scheduled service price. No shows are charged 100% of the scheduled service price. We do require credit cards on file for all customers. Learn more about our cancellation policy here: Cancellation Policy

  • If you are coming in for a haircut or blowout, don’t worry about washing your hair right before your cut- we will wash and blow dry during your service. For haircuts, it is helpful to come with your hair in it’s natural state or texture so our stylists can assess and cut your hair accordingly.

    If you are coming in for a color service, it is best to wash your hair 24-48 hours ahead of time, and to not have any particularly heavy products and buildup on your hair.

    Other helpful ways to prepare for your service: bring your favorite book or your laptop if you need to work and get ready to relax! We have water, tea coffee (and champagne on Saturdays!) available for all clients, and aim to make you as comfortable as possible during your appointment. Never hesitate to reach out if you have any questions leading up to an appointment. Our front desk team is always here to help.

  • A select group of our stylists are happy to cut kid’s hair! We do not have a different rate or service for kid cuts. If you are looking to book a cut for your child, please call or text us and we will book you with one of our wonderful stylists that cuts kids’ hair.
